Q1. What was the inspiration and motivation to start Thalia Skin?
I was someone who had always struggled with my skin, and synthetic ingredients only made my skin more sensitive. When I first began exploring natural skincare, I found the marketplace was filled with products that contained only one or two beneficial ingredients, and whilst they were natural, they just didn’t deliver the potency and results I was searching for. It was here that Thalia was born.

Q2. What has been the most interesting thing you have learnt on your journey so far?
Where do I begin?!! The understanding that what we apply to our skin, does in fact absorb into our bloodstream, has been a game changer for me. However, instead of seeing this as something to be afraid of, we can actually harness this ability to feed our skin the topical nutrients our skin needs to truly thrive. I think there is a misconception that plant based skincare is not as powerful, but I have been humbled by their potency. For example essential oils have the ability to penetrate into the lower levels of our epidermis, without the potential side effects that synthetic fillers, emulsifiers and preservatives have on our hormones and long term health. This journey has also led me to appreciate nature in a whole new way, and discovering its treasure trove of gifts has been life changing.

Q3. What song is in your head at the moment?
Music that moves me in some way, and evokes emotion is my jig. I went to see the film “A Star is Born” last week with my husband, and I can’t get enough of the song “Shallow” sung by Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper, it gives me goosebumps every time I hear it! The line “Tell me something girl, are you happy in this modern world?” reminds me of our deeper search for meaning amongst the chaos.

Q4. Who is the sunshine of your life?
My husband and my two girls, who challenge, stretch and show me the true meaning of unconditional love.

Q5. Favourite podcast or podcast you are into at the moment?
My passion is books, so I would have to say that audiobooks are more my thing, because I can read on the run! I am currently listening to “What if this is Heaven” by Anita Moorjani. It is her second book, based on a true story about her near death experience, and how she healed herself from Stage 4 Cancer, after crossing over to the other side. Her insights are incredible!

Q6. Sustainable, Mindful, Chic to you is?
To me mindfulness is switching off the auto-pilot button. It begins with questioning who we are and what we stand for,  so we can make mindful choices that reflect this in each precious moment.
Sustainable is an attempt to reduce our footprint, and to begin embracing new ways of preserving our beautiful planet for our children’s children to enjoy.
Chic is the new word for conscious consumerism

Q7. What would the perfect day spent look like to you?
I have this vision that has haunted me for years actually! It is a balmy summer evening, and all the people I love are enjoying an alfresco feast, along a long rustic wooden table underneath a big beautiful oak tree, surrounded by a magnificent garden. There is a band playing jazz music, and people are dancing barefoot on the grass. Bliss! (my next birthday perhaps?!)

Q8. Where do you see yourself in ten years?
Wow! Lets see...I would love to see Thalia on the bathroom shelves of an incredible community of women, who are committed to making this world a better place. I would love to be supporting women all around the world, to redefine what True Beauty IS... for us to understand that beauty stems from how we feel, and not from the way we look. Our mission is to support women to blossom from the inside out, and to see beauty as the pursuit of pleasure instead of vanity.

Q9. Shower or bath girl?
Both! My best ideas come to me in the shower! But my beloved bath is for when I need to reconnect and remember how to love myself. My baths are like a giant hug.

Q10. Boots or Heels?
I’m all about comfort so definitely boots on this one! Better for dancing too!

Q11. What do you think is next for Thalia Skin?
We’re really enjoying the organic growth, and truly authentic collaborations with like minded people and businesses such as able2online! We’re all about keeping it real and staying true to our quality.

Q12. How are you able2 be mindful – life in general?
By making choices, thoughts and actions that are in alignment with my values. For me, it stems from feeling. My feelings are my inner GPS, so I try to follow these as much as possible, and this is where the practice of mindfulness comes into play, so I can follow what feel right for me
